Ossining, NY -- Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) presented a State Senatorial proclamation to the New York Chiropractic Council for their efforts in the chiropractic field and combating opioid-abuse in New York State. A representative from the office of Senator Terrence Murphy (R-Putnam/Westchester) also presented a separate proclamation to the New York Chiropractic Council.
The month of September is “Pain-Free Awareness Month”, and both Senator Carlucci and Senator Murphy's representative met with Dr. John LaMonica, President of the New York Chiropractic Council and Dr. Joe Baudille, executive officer of the New York Chiropractic Council to raise public awareness of issues in the area of pain and pain management.
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) encourages patients and health care providers to first exhaust conservative forms of pain management, when appropriate, before moving on to riskier, potentially addictive treatments such as opioids. A growing body of research validates the effectiveness of chiropractic services leading many respected health care organizations to recommend chiropractic and its drug-free approach to pain relief.
